Accommodation

There are pros and cons to staying on-mountain at Powder Mountain Utah. Families or couples who just want to ski at Powder Mountain and stay-in at night time will be well suited to selecting on-mountain accommodation. However if you want the flexibility to also ski at Snowbasin or Wolf Mountain, or want to go out for dinner, then staying off-mountain in Ogden Valley might be a better choice.

On-Mountain Powder Mountain Lodging On-mountain accommodation affords many benefits. There’s no waiting to get up the road on a powder day, and much of the lodging is ski-in ski-out, so you can walk out the front door and start skiing or snowboarding. Most of the accommodation is in the form of condos, with the Pow Mow Ski-Inn Condos being one example.

For those who don’t need multiple bedrooms, the only option is the Columbine Inn. The simple hotel rooms have a kitchenette, and the convenient location and great views are a major bonus.

All wheel drive or 4WD cars are recommended for those staying on-mountain.

Ogden and Ogden Valley Hotels It is possible to stay in Ogden, a small rural city that is home to a large air force base. There are plenty of chain motels and hotels that provide great value accommodation including Days Inn, Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn. One of the advantages of staying here is the large range of shops, restaurants and bars. Ogden is 33km (49 mins) away from Powder Mountain.

There is also some accommodation in Ogden Canyon which is a little closer to Powder Mountain along the canyon road (12th street). Ogden Valley is a pretty rural area with undulating farmland.

Ogden Valley comprises a few small towns: Eden (13km – 20mins from Powder Mountain); Huntsville (22.6km – 36mins from Powder Mountain); and Liberty (17km – 26mins from Powder Mountain). Accommodation in Ogden Valley is much cheaper than on-mountain at Powder Mountain.

Eden is the closest town to Powder Mountain and this also incorporates the Wolf Creek Resort accommodations. It’s a small town but there is a supermarket, a few shops, and various restaurants. Powder Mountain’s shuttle stops at Eden lodging and the bus terminal. Lodgings include condominiums, town-homes and freestanding luxury vacation homes. For those who don’t need multiple bedrooms, the Red Moose Lodge is perfect. They have king bedrooms or luxury suites, and have great amenities.

Huntsville is slightly closer to Snowbasin than the other towns, so is a popular choice for those who plan to spend more time at Snowbasin. The Edgewater condos are near Huntsville at Old Snowbasin Rd (Lakeside Village). Powder Mountain Accommodation Listings
