Ski Tours and Activities Snowcat and heli-skiing is offered by Park City Powder Cats, which is a great way to get away from the crowds for some fresh lines. The Utah Interconnect Tour is another way to go backcountry skiing to find some freshies. This is a unique tour that takes skiers across four to six Utah ski resorts and the backcountry areas between them. Tours leave from Deer Valley on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and cover Deer Valley, Park City, Solitude, Brighton, Alta and Snowbird.

There are cross-country ski opportunities with either White Pine Touring, Homestead Resort or Soldier Hollow.

Family Activities There are plenty of family friendly activities around the Deer Valley area. Gorgoza Park is a former ski hill that has been converted into a tubing hill with multiple lanes. This is not just for the kids. Adults will have a great giggle as well. The park also has mini-snowmobile rides. Gorgoza Park is about 5 minutes out of Park City off the I-80.

Similarly there are plenty of family activities at the Utah Olympic Park to entertain both adults and children including tubing, zip-lining, and museum tours.

Adventure Activities The Utah Olympic Park also has bobsledding which is a super rush of adrenaline for adventure seekers. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Deer Valley operates the Summit Meadows Adventures snowmobile tours which leave from a ranch about a 10 minute drive away. There are also various other snowmobile tour operators around the Park City area.

Relaxation Deer Valley has a couple of day spas if you are in desperate need of some R&R. The 5-star Stein Eriksen Lodge has a spa (435-645-6475 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              435-645-6475      end_of_the_skype_highlighting) which offers various treatments including massages, body treatments, soothing stone treatments, and facials. The relaxing treatments come with a price tag as this is Deer Valley, with a 50 minute deep tissue massage costing $175 (08-09 price).

The Chateaux has the Tranquility Spa which has a full menu of spa treatments and packages. The “ski-in ski-out” sounds fantastic. As a guide to costs, a 55 minute sports massage costs $145 (08-09 price). There are many other day spas and massage services around the Park City area.

EventsDeer Valley and the Park City area commonly host various events including ski and snowboard championships. Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival is probably the biggest event that takes the area by storm in late January. Bookings for accommodation during this time need to be made well in advance.
