Selkirk Powder Day Heli Skiing

Join Selkirk Powder Guides on an epic day or two of heli skiing in the Selkirk Mountains in Sand Point, Idaho just 1 hour's drive from Spokane International airport.

A day of heli skiing typically with Selkirk Powder includes 10,000 to 14,000 feet of vertical (but there isn't really a cap on how much vertical you can do in a day; it really comes down to the group's desires, level of fitness and ability).

Who can join in?
You can join in as an individual, or as a couple or small group. Groups are a maximum of 4 guests with 2 guides. You can also have your own private group of up to 4 if you just want to ski / board with your friends.

The terrain we heli ski in is varied, offering runs for the likes of pro athletes on to family cruisers. In order to maximize your fun and the safety, skiers and riders should at a minimum be high intermediates. We ski in an alpine environment on natural aspects, where snow and conditions are uncontrolled.

Snowfall & qualityThe snow pack is generally reliable and consistent. The area draws moisture from the north and south, so it is usually in the path of storm systems all season long. That equates to over 300" during an average season, with a stable snowpack averaging about 120+ inches in depth holding from Feb thru April (measured at 6350', deeper at the higher elevations)

TerrainThe terrain is located in the unspoiled Idaho State Forest land, consisting of everything from alpine cirque bowls and powder fields, chutes and glades to covered tree runs.

SafetySelkirk Powder is a licensed Level II Alpine Ski Outfitter, and also operates a professional division of National Ski Patrol. Their ski and snowboard guides are well seasoned and specially trained.

HelicoptersSelkirk Powder fly Bell 407's which are powerful and have great speed as well as lift capacity ensuring maximum efficiency.
