Lodging for
Silverton Mountain can be found in the town of Silverton, 6 miles away. This town is a fabulous step back in time with a history associated with gold and silver mining, the narrow gauge railroad, and working women on the notorious Blair Street.
Silverton is a small town, but in winter it becomes tiny because some of the locals board up their houses and shops and migrate somewhere warm. Party, dining and shopping options are incredibly limited during winter, but on the plus side, Silverton is a fabulous place to get away from the frantic pace found in other ski towns. Another bonus is that the accommodation provides great value for money.
Silverton Hotels
The best hotel in town is the
Wyman Hotel and Inn, a historic hotel that has been lovingly restored and decorated with very fine antiques and furnishings. The rooms have luxurious touches and modern amenities, and a couple of the rooms have jacuzzis. The feel of the hotel is that of a bed and breakfast, with very attentive service and lots of extra special touches. See our

Other historic hotels include the Grand Imperial Hotel, the Teller House Hotel and the Bent Elbow Hotel. Room rates in winter for the Bent Elbow vary from $60-$85 per night.
Silverton Motel
Motels are delightfully cheap and options include The Triangle Motel, the Canyon View Motel and the Prospector Motel. The Triangle Motel rooms are about $80 a night for 2 person occupancy, and the Canyon View Motel rooms are $55 to $65 a night. Awesome! (NB rates are for 2010)

Apart from the Wyman Hotel, a popular B&B is the Inn of the Rockies.
Durango Mountain Resort Accommodation
Another option for those
skiing at Silverton Mountain is
Durango Mountain Resort lodging. Durango (aka Purgatory) Ski Resort is located 30 minutes from the town of Silverton. The advantage of staying at DMR is that it’s very family friendly, and other than skiing at the resort, there are various activities on offer.
