My birthday falls on August 31st which happens to align well with the clockwork storm cycle of the "Santa Rosa" snow dump each year. Since Baguales elevation is much higher than local Catedral the rain and mud which you may see on a bad year; (I happened to have the plesure to stomp through lots of mud) its snowing nice fresh pow up there.

The short of it is. This place is still new and that means its completly badass and has room to grow. The shower alone is worth the trip as it overlooks the entire valley. The apre ski is good too as the staff makes sure you have a nice glass of Argentinian Red waiting when your done.

Loads of badass hikeable terrrain if catsking isnt your thing.

As far as the Staff goes they are exceptional. For example I left my sunglasses and they dilivered them directly to my hotel. Its like 2 hours away in Baguales. The guides know the area well and it got bad the with whiteout conditions and I wasnt worried a bit.

Bassically keep in mind Patigonia will do what it wants when it comes to weather. Absolutely perfect Blue bird one day and windy no viz wind soured the next. Bottom line is See for yourself... Baguales is sick.

Baguales is not to be missed on a trip to Patagonia. The adventure to get to the main refugio (truck crossing a river, snowmobile and cat) is fantastic!

The terrain is huge and beautiful, runs are not really long but you ski a lot of variety in one day. The accommodations are excellent, food terrific and it has a super vibe. Guides and staff are excellent.

I have skied all over SA and the terrain, wildness and remote location make Baguales an absolute must visit. I can't wait to go back!
