Valle Nevado & Nevados de Chillan Package

This tour takes in two of Chile's largest ski areas Valle Nevado (the closest ski area to Santiago) and Nevados de Chillan which is 5 hours south of Santiago. From Valle Nevado, you can also upgrade your lift pass to access the neighboring ski areas of El Colorado and La Parva.

In this package you will be provided with private transport to and from the ski areas by multi-lingual drivers however this tour does not include on-mountain guiding.

In addition to the great skiing these areas have to offer, you will experience a scenic train ride, soak in thermal hot springs, taste local cuisine and locally produced Chilean wines.

Itinerary

This tour starts on Friday's from Santiago Airport & ends in Santiago on the following Saturday

Day 1: Arrival Day

Arrival to Santiago International Airport and transfer to Valle Nevado. Typically international flights arrive in the morning and you will be skiing by 1pm. Valle Nevado sits high above Santiago, and is the closest resort to the capital city. Modeled after the style of European resorts, the Valle Nevado complex straddles the imposing peak El Plomo, includes luxury accommodations, and has the largest skiable domain in Chile. Tickets can be purchased to connect to neighboring resorts La Parva and El Colorado.

Day 2-4: Ski Valle Nevado area

Ski and/or ride Valle Nevado, which has the largest skiable domain in Chile. Sip après ski pisco sours, watch the condors soar by overhead and enjoy good company over delectable food and wine.

Day 5: Transfer to Maule Valley

Leaving Valle Nevado after breakfast, you'll be transferred approximately four hours south, deep into the heart of the Maule Valley, a largely undeveloped agricultura l region spread between the Andes and the Pacific. There, vineyards flank the roads and long-standing traditions as well as a focus on sustainability produce consistently excellent, flavorful wines. Curic6 is home to some of the biggest names in the Chilean wine industry, including San Pedro, the second largest winery in Chile. You will first stop for a tour, tasting, and lunch at Casa Silva, the oldest winery in the Colchagua Valley, which was founded by French immigrant Emilio Bouchon in 1892. Casa Silva is known for its award winning Carmenere, Chile's signature grape.
You will spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at Casa Bouchon which is part of the family estate of Julio Bouchon. This property is anchored by a beautiful colonial hacienda dating back to the mid-191h century. Visiting Casa Bouchon is like taking a step back in time to colonial Chile, where traditions thrive and huasos are still commonly seen on horseback. It's the perfect rural retreat where guests are welcomed with the best of Chilean hospitality. Activities like mountain biking and horseback riding are available and recommended, and the hacienda's unique wine barrel, wood-stove heated hot tub is a must.

You will arrive in time to visit the bodega, experience a premium tasting, and afterward enjoy a signature homemade dinner. After the evening meal you might choose to soak in the uniquely-crafted Bouchon barrel hot tub.

Day 6: Transfer to Nevados de Chillan

Enjoy a private transfer from Casona Bouchon to Chillán. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel Nevados de Chillán, where you will spend the next few days in snow bliss.

Two-and-a-half hours south of Maule, eruptions and lava flows from the Chillán Volcano have formed unique pistes, bowls, and natural half pipes at Nevados de Chillán. The resort enjoys some of Chile’s best snow conditions with an average snowfall of 10m (nearly 400in) and a diverse spread of terrain offering something for all ability levels (including good backcountry opportunities). There is some tree skiing on the lower slopes, and the resort is renowned for its lack of crowds. In addition to great skiing, Nevados is home to thermal hot springs, perfect for relaxing tired muscles after a day on the slopes.

Day 7-8: Ski & Ride Nevados de Chillan

Ski and/or ride at Nevados de Chillán resort where lava flows from the neighboring volcano have formed unique pistes, bowls, and natural half pipes. Enjoy excellent snow conditions and little to no lift lines by day and take a soak in the naturally formed hot springs come evening.

Day 9: Ski Nevados de Chillan & train back to Santiago

Spend your last morning skiing before departure for Chillán and then the scenic train ride back to Santiago in time for your international flight or next adventure.

With 53 comfortable rooms, all with a terrace and direct access to the slopes, Hotel Valle Nevado is the most exclusive luxury accommodation at the resort.

All rooms have spectacular views of the Andes and the ski slopes. A number of bars and restaurants are within a few minutes’ walk, and the best one – Restaurant La Fourchette (French-Mediterranean fare) – is located within the hotel.

Standard half-board includes breakfast, ski après, and dinner, as well as one body massage per person for stays of 7 nights or more. Among many other things, the hotel includes an outdoor heated pool.

PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT & BALANCE

  • At 45 days or greater from departure, a deposit of 50% is required to confirm reservation.
  • The balance is due 45 days prior to departure. Failure to make your final payment on time is considered a cancellation on the part of the passenger.
  • 100% payment is required to confirm reservation for any trip booked with less than 45 days prior to departure.
  • Glove Travel prefers bank wires/transfers in USD however credit cards & PayPal are also accepted (additional fees may apply for CC & PP).

CANCELLATIONS

By Glove Travel

In the event that a trip be cancelled by Glove Travel due to circumstances beyond its control, Glove Travel will provide the customer with a full refund (less any expenses incurred) or a credit for a future trip. Glove travel will provide further documentation regarding this with a quote request.

Cancellation prior to departure:
  • More than 61 days - 10% of the trip cost or USD 150 per person (whichever is higher) + expenses
  • 60 - 45 days - 25% of the trip cost
  • 44 - 31 days - 50% of the trip cost
  • <31 days - 100% of the trip cost

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Glove Travel strongly recommends that you purchase travel insurance that includes:
  • Cancellation or interruption cover due to injury or sickness. This includes injury or sickness of a family member, travel companion or business partner.
  • Medical expenses including COVID-19.
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation costs in respect of all of your activities.
  • "Cancellation for any reason" (CFAR) to ensure all funds can be recovered (optional coverage).
