The NZ Snow Tours team have years of experience with skiing & guiding in New Zealand's Southern Alps. Combined with their passion for skiing and their love of working with like-minded people, you can't go wrong in joining them on one of their tours.
OverviewThis tour is 14 nights (10 days of skiing) and takes in some of New Zealand's most recognised ski field in the Southern Lakes region including
Treble Cone,
Cardrona,
Snow Park,
The Remarkables,
Coronet Peak and
Ohau as well as some of New Zealand's less famous ski areas in the Canterbury region including
Craigieburn,
Broken River,
Porters, Mt Cheeseman,
Mt Olympus and
Temple Basin.
Itinerary & Daily Schedule
The itinerary has been designed to minimise travelling time while still allowing for maximum coverage of the best ski areas in the South Island. The decision on which mountain to ride is made on a daily basis. The decision is based on variables including the groups ability level and wishes, and the current snow conditions and weather forecast.
Mountain Orientation
The best way to get to know the best runs, in the best ski areas in the South Island is on this fully guided tour. The fully qualified hosts know the ski areas inside out and are there to ensure that you have MAXIMUM snow time with MINIMUM fuss. You can trust the guides to show you the slopes that suit your ability, whilst also challenging you and improving your ski or snowboard skills.
Transportation
You will travel in
comfortable 4WD vehicles which are well equipped for mountain driving.
Your guide is a commercially licensed driver and experienced in handling
the expected road conditions. All NZ Snow Tour guides are experienced
snow enthusiasts with years of specific snow employment and a high level
of knowledge of the local region and snow conditions. To ensure
personal attention and maximise the unique experience, spaces are
limited to only six clients per trip.
Accommodation: Although this tour takes in many ski areas, you will be based in only two locations;
Castle Hill and
Wanaka. The base package price includes accommodation in NZ Snow Tours' private lodge in Castle Hill, whilst accommodation in Wanaka is based on twin share at
Hikers Rest Lodge and
Wanaka View. For
solo travellers, the price is based on a private room with shared bathroom facilities at
Wanaka Bakpaka.

Private Lodge - Castle Hill. The lodge has an open plan living area with a cosy log fire & great cooking facilities for you to prepare your morning & evening meals. It comprises of 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 10 people. Where possible people will have a private room however in some cases it may be necessary to share a room with others.
Castle Hill is within 30 minutes of 6 ski areas. There are no facilities or shops here so all shopping for groceries is done in Christchurch before heading to the lodge. There is a fabulous little pub 20 minutes away in Springfield where you will spend at least one evening eating out.

In Wanaka you have several options to choose from (which may vary the package price):

Wanaka Bakpaka: is perfectly located only a 5 minute stroll from Wanaka's restaurants & bars.
The accommodation is very comfortable with private double rooms, twin and shared dorm rooms (3/4 and 5/6 bunks per room). It has a fabulous open plan living area with a cosy log fire; the perfect place to relax and meet new friends. See Wanaka Bakpaka website for more information

Holiday Houses: if you have a group of 4 or more and you want your own space and a little more quality at an affordable price, NZ Snow Tours has a range of holiday houses to choose from.
Houses range from 3 to 4 bedrooms accommodating up to 10 people and are all self-catering. They are all modern, warm and generally within walking distance to Wanaka. Many of the houses have cosy log fires; the perfect place to gather after a day on the slopes.
All rooms have either queen beds or singles. All linen is supplied.

Wanaka View Motel: just a two minute walk from the centre of town, Wanaka View Motel offers one to three bedroom units that have all been recently refurbished. With a fully equipped kitchenette you have the option to stay in and cook yourself, or take a short stroll to many of the excellent restaurants in town.
With all of the mod-cons, stunning views, and access to a spa on site, Wanaka View is perfect for those wanting privacy and value for money.

Hikers Rest Lodge: A modern lodge with amazing views located just a couple of hundred metres from town, Hikers Rest Lodge provides twin or double rooms each with their own private bathrooms.
The lodge is self-catering with communal kitchen and lounge facilities. This is a great place to stay for those that like to meet other people, but also appreciate a good nights sleep!

Tour DatesTours run from the start of July through until the end of September and generally run from Sunday to Sunday. However wherever possible NZ Snow Tours will try and work in with your dates.
