Hakuba Complete Backcountry Tour

The Hakuba Complete Backcountry Tour is a backcountry tour of the Hakuba area. The Hakuba Complete BC is an advanced trip and is designed for people who have experience ski touring and want to get off the beaten track and access remote areas away from the ski resorts.

Ski touring and ski mountaineering at Japan's mecca, the Northern Japanese Alps, is a fabulous destination to push your limits and ski the deep and steep back country that is hands down the best big mountain skiing that Japan has to offer. Only a very tiny number of people who visit the area ever venture into the backcountry; and that's because it is very steep and dangerous for those without local knowledge and experience.

Goodguides have over 10 years experience of skiing in central Japan giving them an intimate knowledge of the local mountains, weather patterns and local culture. Owner and operator Jerry Williams has fluency in the Japanese language, and his love of Japanese culture will ensure you get a well rounded trip with the absolute best in both skiing and culture.

All guides are professionally trained and qualified and are in the field everyday and know the conditions and terrain inside out.

They also have an extensive network in the local community enabling them to access local knowledge and information from the surrounding snow community.

Ability & FitnessThese tours are aimed at skiers and riders who are advanced to expert riders with backcountry experience. This Hakbua backcountry tour involves a lot of up-hill hiking/skinning on skis, split board or snow shoes so you will need to have a very good level of fitness.

Equipment RequiredYou will have avalanche safety gear supplied as part of the package, however you will also need touring gear which could be skis with touring bindings & skins, split board with skins and/or snow shoes.

These tours can also be customised to your dates and group (subject to availability). Enquire here for a custom quote>>

Advanced bookings are essential as these tours book out well ahead of time.

Don't just look at it; do it!
