I really enjoyed the 12 day Powder Highway Tour leaving from Calgary Alberta February 18th 2023. The trip lived up to its expectations and the powder was very good. Dori and Pierre took us to 5 really good ski resorts with varying terrain and levels of difficulty. We sort of split into the A and B teams and that really suited my abilities. Dori and Pierre managed a lot over the two weeks including navigating some pretty snowy/icy highways, guiding, organising great restaurants, rounding up stragglers each day and just being darn nice people. I would highly recommend this trip.

Fresh Adventures: Jafar and Laurence, thank you for a wonderful Powder Highway Adventure. The two of you were consummate professionals deftly managing our eclectic group and setting the perfect too for all of our powder skiing. Thanks for putting in the amazing weather order and delivering new snow every day with only one exception. It didn’t hurt to start the first day of skiing with 40cm of new snow. We all deeply appreciated the extensive knowledge you two had of the ski areas and your ability to find untracked powder every day! Know that giving us that daily powder experience was way beyond expectations. It should also be mentioned that you managed the logistics, driving, delayed luggage, and the idiosyncrasy of your guests with grace and care. I highly recommend Fresh Adventures and our two wonderful guides, Jafar and Laurence. Thank you for all the soft and deep turns and the great adventure.

5 stars rating well deserved!

The route, perfectly arranged:
Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, White Water and Red Mountain offered a variety of ski resorts with different profiles, that made the trip extremely interesting and kept the tension high!

The organization, as smooth as possible:
High service level of Alex and the guides Laurence and Carl, started with the booking, the pick up & drop off, the save and efficient transport and the selection of local cafes and restaurants.

The guides, who’s made it awesome:
Laurence, Bad-Ass-Snowboarder (in the most positive way of meaning) and Carl, Super-Ski-Man made the trip unforgettable. They brought us to incredible good spots inside the resorts to hit the powder, encouraged us to enjoy every drop, turn and groomer and kept us constantly happy. As fully integrated members of our crew, they took care of us in every moment! @Laurence and Carl: Thank you so much for these awesome moments!

Without doubts, recommendable to every skilled skier/snowboarder who want to experience a snow-trip with a lot of variety, with a road-trip-feeling and unforgettable moments.

Carl and Laurence looked after and entertained us very well and kept us informed.
They chose excellent evening dining, bars and cafes.
Lodging was generally very good to excellent but for a couple of occasions when hot water was in short supply.
This was a fun trip with a great gang of people from Australian , Sweden and Germany and was a good introduction to the four mountains on tour which I would like to come back to for a longer stay. Especially Red Mountain / Rossland and Whitewater/ Nelson.

Myself and a friend just finished the 11 day BC tour. We had Jafar and Marek as guides.
The tour was amazing, the guides worked hard to make sure the whole group felt comfortable (even though it was mixed ages and abilities).
We were taken to the best spots on the mountains, pushed our limits (if we chose to), offered the best Apres and eating places and had all questions answered every day.
Well worth the cost compared to booking and driving yourself around - even if to just get the fresh tracks in the local guides secret spots.

Private Guided Tour - Jan/Feb 24

I have no hesitation recommending Fresh Adventures as a host/guide for ski touring in Britain’s Columbia. Our private tour for 6 people included 2 days at each of White Water, Red Mountain, Revelstoke and Kicking Horse; 4 excellent and varied resorts. We had a great time thanks to Pierre, our host, driver and ski guide and Alex who organised the itinerary for us.

Pierre was exceptional. Despite snow conditions not being perfect, he was able to seek out the best of the mountain in each resort with some truly spectacular and exciting skiing. We were a family group of 6 with an age range from 27 to 60. Pierre was able to fit in seamlessly with the group, everyone enjoyed his company and valued his skill on the mountain, without which the experience would have been significantly diluted. Off the mountain, everything was like clockwork. Pierre was punctual, attentive, flexible and always good humoured.

Based on this experience, I could not recommend Fresh Adventures enough. Thanks to Powderhounds for the introduction.

Just returned from the 11 day Powder Highway tour and can only say that my expectations were easily exceeded. 3 years in the making with Alex to get there so excitement level was high when leaving for the "adventure".
Myself and my 2 adult children teamed with 5 others to form a tight group that jelled together for a fantastic trip that was lead by 2 incredible guides (now friends) Darren and Claire. Nothing was too much trouble. We skied with smiles and achieved things i wouldn't have thought possible. i certainly won't be waiting 3 years to do it again. if you are thinking about it, just do it!!
Thanks for everything Alex, Darren and Claire

I did the BC ski tour. It was the best snowboard vacation I've had. Alex, and the tour guides (Bev and Claire) were fantastic. It was white glove service from the moment I landed for the next 11 days.

The tour mates, mountains were all great. They housed us in top notch accommodations, and shuttled us to amazing restaurants.

I can't think of anything that could be improved. Makes you want to go back.

Everything you could ask for...and then some!

This was my second year travelling from Scotland for the 11 Day BC Ski Tour - which says something for Fresh Adventures and the stunning Powder Highway.

Right from the start, Alex was very helpful answering any questions I had and setting up bookings to suit. Including accommodation before and after the tour.

In the mountains, Margot and Sam were fantastic guides. Expertly catering to the levels of the group and riding people wanted to do. Having guides like this allowed us to make the most of some incredible resorts. Hikes to hidden stashes, powdery tree runs and steep chutes. I felt confident and safe where I wouldn't have ventured otherwise.

It's also hard not to catch on to Margot's seemingly endless enthusiasm. This combined with an atmosphere of encouragement and it felt like everyone progressed during the tour.

When not on the slopes, there's little to stress about. As there was always a plan for the best après and dinner spots. With plenty of local knowledge thrown in.

Now back home and I wish I was still chasing the sound of excited shouts through the trees.

Thanks for everything Margot, Sam and Alex!

I signed up for the tour with high expectations and they were exceeded. Margo and Sam guided us to great terrain at Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, and Whitewater. But more importantly, it felt like I was visiting friends rather than being on a structured tour. Given that they live and are familiar with the areas we visited - we went to neighborhood coffee shops and restaurants they liked. They discussed their lives in the area, listened to their playlists in the van and laughed a lot. I came away not only a big fan of the skiing, but also of the vibe/ambiance in this part of Canada. Just glad I did it and would highly recommend this to everyone.

What a fantastic place to be shown around by 2 great guides Sam and Darren. The organisation and local knowledge of the best pow stashes and local eateries/coffee shops was invaluable. Hats off to Darren and Sam for being so accommodating and just really good guys- they really made the trip. A great mix of resorts to ski at and to finish with a day of hell skiing in the Purcells was amazing. We hope to be back for more in the future! Cheers, Paul

8 Day Powder Highway Ski Trip

I wasn’t sure what to expect on the Powder Highway ski tour with Fresh Adventures but from the moment we landed in Kelowna, our guides Sam and Darren made sure there wasn’t a dull moment. They went out of their way to not only guide us through some of the best ski terrain in British Columbia but also organised a heap of activities around the skiing like watching the local Revelstoke ice hockey team, hot springs visits, craft brewery sessions and organised restaurant bookings for our group every night.
We covered a lot of ground to get to some of BC’s best mountains including Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, Whitewater and Red Mountain but the best day by far was on our final day when we heli-skied the Purcells near Kaslo.
Alex helped us tailor the tour to exactly what we wanted and all the guys in our group were impressed with the quality of the accommodation. Sam and Darren’s local knowledge was priceless, and they never failed to pick out the best coffee in town for our quick brekky stops before we hit the slopes.
Darren and Sam are two of the nicest guys you could meet and really made the tour an enjoyable experience.
I’ll definitely be back to do another tour with Fresh Adventures.

My daughter and I went on the 11 day, 4 resort tour with Margot and Bev as our guides. What an awesome trip. Margot and Bev are sensational guides showing us spots we never would have found on our own. Our group was a bunch of fantastic people. the restaurant choices were fabulous. Alex the owner, even helped arrange a few days in Whistler for us after the tour. We’re both exhausted and exhilarated and would highly recommend Fresh Adventures to any skier or boarder. And damn, those girls can ride/ski!! :)

This was my first powder highway trip with Fresh Adventures and it was so much fun!. I would recommend doing a tour with this company. It was very well organized, the hotels were clean, comfortable, great local restaurants and breweries. It was a pleasure riding with and experiencing the local Canadian culture with our guides Margot and Sam. With their knowledge and experience of the mountains we had some amazing fresh powder runs and challenging tree runs.

I’ve recently returned from Canada and feel so privileged to have had such an amazing experience.
Travelling alone for the first time, I was a little anxious and detailed information prior to departure was a little sketchy. This is the only element of the tour which I cannot highly praise.
Margot and Bev, our guides were just so full of fun and positivity and went to great lengths to enjoy and participate in the humour that only a majority Aussie team can truly appreciate.
We skied some fantastic terrain that I wouldn’t have tackled solo, got into some very interesting beverages and chowed down on scrumptious Canadian cuisine.
All in all Margot and Bev, you do your country proud as exceptional ambassadors and the other participants on the tour were okay ;-)
Love youse all xxx

What a tour!

03/03/2020
From the very first interaction with the company that runs this tour, we've had nothing but a pleasurable and easy experience. Alex was very responsive via e-mail and was able to-do everything we asked, including booking a private bus to Whistler at the end of the tour. He was very relaxed and informative during the booking process. Then we began the tour in Banff and met our tour guides, Darren and Chris. We honestly had the best time with these guys. Chris and Darren made our trip so easy and enjoyable. Nothing was ever too much trouble (even when I forgot my boarding boots at the hotel and they had to take me back to grab them). They went above and beyond to ensure we were having the best time at all times. They knew the mountains and terrain they were taking us on well and encouraged us todo tracks (and hikes) that we would never had done on our own. They found fresh powder even when it hadn't snowed in days and were always conscientious of our boarding abilities. They were incredibly knowledgeable, they were respectful, they were professional and they were fun. They just fit right in and we felt like they were apart of our group, it was actually sad to say goodbye to them. This was a fantastic 9 days and I would recommend this tour and this company to anyone considering travelling to Canada to ski and snowboard. Thank-you to Alex, Darren and Chris.

I went on the powder tour with fresh adventures in late February. Their professional guide, Margot, provided us with great opportunities to ski runs that challenged each level of skier. Excellent hotels, places to dine, beautiful scenery and wonderful skiing. Also, a tour guide that has a passion for her profession and a warm personality that made each day a new “fresh adventure”!

Powder Highway Tour

I joined two fresh adventure winter tours and enjoyed both immensely.
The first was the powder highway tour and 2nd was the rockies.

For the powder highway tour, Margot was our lead guide. Margot is bubbly, encouraging, easy going and caring. Everyone on the tour loved her. I cannot do her justice through my review but if you're lucky enough to get her as your guide, you'll see what i mean.

Alex was our guide for the Rockies tour. I was happy to meet Alex since he's in all the reviews! Alex is passionate about guiding and wants to make everyone have a great experience. He is friendly, energetic and open. Even though he is the owner of the company, his down to earth nature makes him very relatable and I found his honesty about his life experiences endearing. I appreciated Alex's flexibility and to customize my 2nd tour to fit my schedule.

I have been on overseas snow trips with friends and now with a tour group, so i can appreciate the pros and cons of both. If you want to travel but you're friends are unavailable, I definitely recommed trying Fresh Adventures if you want to check out Canada's snow resorts. You may be with a group of all different ages and experience levels, but because everyone loves skiing/boarding, that common interest does bring people together.

The advantages for me doing a fresh adventures tour rather than organising it myself were (not in a particular order):

Dinner reservations made every night ( people are free to also do their own thing). I loved that i didn't have to think of where to eat!
And all the restaurants chosen were good picks.

The guides packed up our snow gear in the van. No lugging around your gear to your accomodation after a tiring day at the snow.

The guides drive the van all the way to the resort's entrance! I felt so spoiled that i didn't have to walk far with my board. Very nice especially after a tiring day. No waiting for a shuttle bus to take you back to your hotel or driving on unfamiliar icy roads.

There may be opportunities to meet people that are a lot more advanced, and therefore they challenge you to improve (this was my experience as an intermediate boarder. Of course an advanced skiier/boarder will have a different experience).

Having guides that know the mountain. This is not a ski school so you won't get coaching (however Alex still gave me some tips along the way). From my experience, the guide will be with the advanced skiers/boarders group because they can explore more terrain and this is where a guide is invaluable. Beginners and intermediate levels may not get to be with the guide because they do not require as much guidance around the mountain. However the guide will still point out what runs are appropriate.

The small group size makes it easy to get to know everyone. And it's fun meeting new people on holidays.

The cons are the cost. The cost of tours (in general, not just Fresh Adventures) may be a bit more expensive than doing it yourself or organising with friends. However, i found this tour a lot less stressful and more convenient than going solo or even as a pair. I think it's worth it- especially if you choose the powder highway tour. You'll go to mountains that are out of the way and therefore less crowded. I got the impression that the mountains on the powder highway tour are where locals go.
Even the towns you stay in will be less touristy and therefore food is a lot cheaper! I know i wouldn't have gone to these resorts if i was with friends because they are more difficult to get to.

Overall, I'm really happy to have experienced both tours. Personally i preferred the powder highway because I liked the runs more on those mountains. However, if you are a beginner/ early intermediate, then the Rockies tour may be more suitable because the runs aren't as steep. Of course, confirm with Alex (because he knows the mountains a lot better than me). If you prefer a more energetic night life, Banff (you'll stay here on the Rockies tour) is the place to be. So both tours can cater for different interests.

The Mighty Rocky Mountains!

Drew
16/05/2018
I recently returned from a snowboard trip to the Canadian rockies with Fresh Adventures. When I booked the tour I have to admit I was a bit nervous going on a tour and going to the Rockies, when I had always heard Whistler was the place to go. I spoke with Alex on the phone and he was very helpful, assuring me that the group dynamic would work really well and that the Rockies are some of the best skiing around. Well, he was right. The group was great, with people of varying abilities having a great time, and Alex was able to cater to many skill levels at the same time. I am fairly advanced and never had to wait for slower skiers, but no one seemed rushed either.
The Rockies were brilliant, with absolutely stunning scenery in every direction. I joke that it's not hard to make a postcard of the Rockies, just point your camera and you've got one!
We stopped at Lake Louise and the group went out on the ice, some even renting ice skates and skating with the glacier in the background.
The snow was great and the hotels were much better than I imagined, one with a grotto hot tub, and all of which had really nice rooms and friendly staff.
Over all I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to ski or snowboard in Canada, especially if you don't have much time for planning. Next year I hope to try the Powder Highway tour with Fresh Adventures. Thanks! Drew

How lucky am I to have found 'The Powder Highway' with Fresh Adventures! Best skiing holiday I've ever had. Fabulous challenging tree skiing in fluffy powder. Not what this Aussie is used to. Following Alex like a 'duckling' with her mum (dad)! Alex definitely made the trip. He's so enthusiastic, fun and had us completely organised. This trip is a must!

I recently returned from a BC powder highway tour with Fresh adventures. Led by Alex , whose meticulous preparation and attention to detail ensured we were treated to the very best on and off the slopes . The beauty of the 11 day tour is you get to experience 4 very different ski resort terrains , as well as taking in some of Canada's most breathtaking scenery. Add to that some amazing culinary delights , comfortable accommodation , natural hot springs visits , and a wonderful eclectic tour group , it's hard not be full of praise for Alex and his tour operation . If you are a skiing / boarding enthusiast , i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for your next holiday

Fantastic week of snowboarding/skiing and eating beautiful food with Fresh Adventures!! All thanks to Alex, our local, brilliant and fearless guide. We had some epic snow and ate at great cafes and restaurants all week. B.C. is stunningly beautiful. A very well organised and thought out tour. Plenty of laughs were shared from our eclectic and very international group. Throw in some natural hot springs that Alex took us to and we had a brilliant time!! Thanks again Alex and Fresh Adventures. I highly recommend the experience.

Awesome holiday, had lots of adventurous fun on the 9 day powder highway tour. Alex did a great job balancing different ski levels and making sure everyone was kept happy. We explored some great terrain, got to do some hiking and jumping off big mountains, definitely pushed me to ski happily outside my comfort zone.. My boyfriend was new to skiing and Alex did a great job setting him up with great instructors and lots of tips when we skied together. Getting to find untracked powder, amazing food each night and the natural hot springs make this tour one of a kind. Highly recommend to all, good mix of ages on the tour make this a great option to see the best of BC.

Excellent 9 Day Powder Highway Trip!

We’ve recently returned from the 9-day Powder Highway tour in Spring with Alex. Had an absolutely amazing time! I was a non-skier before the trip, and my partner an experienced skier, so we found the tour a great mix where Alex would sort out lessons and show me the best beginner runs whilst my partner and the majority of the group went and hiked mountains and chased the powder. I also found the order of resorts perfect for beginners as Revel Stoke has multiple beginner runs with magic carpets, Kicking Horse has a huge range of perfect beginner/intermediate runs, and then Whitewater allowed me to step up to more advanced runs. Alex organized everything down to a tee with good accommodation and great food spots everyday. Highly recommend and would do it again in a heart beat!

I just came back from a winter tour led by Alex and I can confidently say that he made it the trip of a lifetime. Alex knew all the best runs to ski/board where we would find amazing powder to go through. Alex was even kind enough to give me a few quick snowboarding tips which really helped me out. Alex took us to some amazing restaurants that served some amazing food and knew the best cafes to go to for top quality coffee.
It was really nice to go on a trip and not have to worry about what time we needed to get up or what time we needed to leave location X to arrive at location Y as Alex had everything perfectly planned out.

Going on this tour, I didn't feel like just another customer at all, I felt like family and couldn't help feel a little sad when it was time for the tour to come to an end. I'll definitely be returning next year.

We have just returned from the 11 day Powder Highway tour, which was awesome. A very well organized tour, with epic skiing, good comfortable accommodation, and awesome food which Alex our guide had obviously put considerable research into. If you haven't skied this part of the world before this tour is a must do, so much easier than driving yourself, and you don't have to think or worry about accommodation, restaurants, road conditions etc. Alex takes you to the best that each mountain has to offer, rather than taking days to find it for yourself. This tour is brilliant for anyone from a strong intermediate through to advanced skiers or boarders.

This was the first guided ski trip I have taken and let me tell you that it exceeded my expectations by far. A guide like Alex is invaluable since he opens up a whole new world of challenging terrain that brings out the best in you.
Aside from his knowledge of the ski mountain, he plans every detail from lodging to meals to transportation to hot springs R&R. We saw and did many things seamlessly which is something only a local can provide so we could just concentrate on the skiing.

Truly a great fun road trip. We were blessed with the conditions ranging from fresh powder at Whitewater to blue sky spring conditions at Red. The new team of Margot and Evelin did a tremendous job guiding us to the quiet spots on the mountain and certainly stretched my abilities. Our group was a good mix from around the world and were fun to travel with. A strongly recommended roady for advanced NZ and Aussie skiers wanting off piste Canadian experience.

Ski the Powder Highway

Chris
13/03/2018
Hi Team,
The other guests were fun and food was amazing while the skiing was disappointing. Booked via Powderhounds to ski the PowderHighway with operator FreshAdventure (slogan: off the beaten path / guide in torn clothes, not very representative) so expected some powder skiing. However all we skied were completely trashed and tracked hillsides within resorts, no powder at all. I could have bought a resort pass and taken a resort map myself or just stay in any resort anywhere in the world, no need for a guide. It said the trip is for intermediate to advanced skiers but we had several people being the first time off-piste or didn't want to ski off-piste at all limiting options. I went again a few weeks later to the same region with a mountain guide and we did leave the resort boundaries and did ski amazing powder (sometimes by cat sometimes a few minutes walk). To me the tour description and execution don't match up. My suggestion is to either adjust the description or move from ski guide to mountain guide as operator so resort boundaries can be left. Spending 2 days per resort without option to leave it and expect fresh powder for skiing is a very small chance.
Kind regards
Chris

Response from Alex:
"Thanks so much for your feedback Chris. It is always really helpful to hear from our guests as we continuously work to make our tours better. As much as we try, it is always hard to make sure that every single guest has the experience of a lifetime on our tours. You are totally right- we strive to help visitors step off the beaten path into areas that would have been hard to access or learn about on their own. And yes, you could have bought a resort pass and map and explored on your own. We are here to make it easier for people to arrive and be able to ski the locals' favourite and secret runs on each mountain, soak in hidden hot springs and get from town to town along the notoriously difficult Powder Highway. Unfortunately during your tour my jacket was damaged. Guiding is very hard on equipment (carrying other guests' skis, loading the ski box, inspecting the van, connecting the trailer and skiing hard everyday). I am happy to say that I have replaced my jacket with a great new one!

We welcome skiers and boarders of all skill levels, and it is not easy to create a great group dynamic, although it almost always works exceptionally for us. Our goal is to help intermediate, advanced and expert skiers progress and ski in terrain they may not have been able to without help. It is not uncommon for us to help people go from skiing blue groomed runs to double black off-piste runs during our 11 day tour. Seeing a group work well together and helping each guest perform at their best is what we live for.

You are an exceptionally good skier and it seems that you are used to skiing in the back country. We try to be very clear that this is not a back country tour and that we ski in bounds at each resort (generally the snow is amazing, but compared to the back country there are more tracks and of course the experience is different). We are happy to connect our guests with local back country guides, as well as heli and cat operators to make sure that those who wish get their share of untracked back country powder. (Booking these in advance ensures they are available). We will be taking a look at our marketing and continuing to ensure that everything is accurate. (Thank you for the suggestions). We always strive to under promise and over deliver to make sure that our guests have a great experience.

I am happy to hear that you had a great time on your back country ski trip. It was really nice spending the week with you and I would love to hear from you in the future."

An amazing trip with a fabulous guide and 10 other wonderful new friends that made the trip fantastic. We were able to access four new mountains that would have been difficult to reach on our own and wasted time. As it was Alex kept up a cracking pace to ensure we were making the most of our time on mountain, driven comfortably to the next, took in three natural hot springs to revive aching muscles, experienced ferry rides with breathtaking scenery, dined locally in delicious restaurants, celebrated birthdays in style and had a really great time. We achieved our personal goals in relation to skiing powder/moguls improving our skills and attempting feats that we would not have attempted on our own. We did discover that our 14 year old son of intermediate - advance ability could have joined us as we were there to supervise him. He was so disappointed to have missed out on our EPIC skiing! That just means we will just have to go again and bring him too. Thank you Alex for the trip of a lifetime.

Our Tour with Alex was terrific.
He's a genuine bloke, with great customer focus. Alex has a passion for Skiing and Boarding, and sharing his love of the Canadian Rockies (Powder Highway) with his guests, which showed in his great rapport with us.
We enjoyed meeting people from other countries, who are now friends on our own What's App chat. And we especially enjoyed visiting great destinations, which we wouldn't have otherwise have visited on our own....best done with a group of other enthusiastic skiers and boarders.

This was my best snowboard trip ever. And I have plenty to compare it with, including snowcat riding and heli. It was planned as a 9 day trip but due to " irresistible "factor it ended up being an 11 day tour. Alex, the owner of Fresh Adventure, is an intrepid guide. He lead us through some of the most difficult, beautiful, scenic, marked and unmarked runs and hikes in 4 different resorts. Thanks to Alex, I experienced a wide variety of terrain and definitely pushed my limits. He made sure I had my daily latte, locally brewed and served in quaint local cafes along the Powder Highway, served with a hearty breakfast before heading for the slopes. Once on the slopes, you could do it all, following Alex on all his favourite runs or take it easy and cruise the groomers. Either way, he made sure that everybody was doing what they desired that day. We would often intercept at the lifts for a quick check ups. If that wasn't enough, we visited 3 fabulous natural hot spring along the way and had hot tubs in hotels to soak up aching muscles after a hard days' work. Food was good, all in well researched local restaurants. Thanks to Alex's intimate knowledge of the mountains we had access to the best of BC terrain. I would love to do this trip again. December 2018 sounds really good to me now...

If you're looking for a tour with all the highlights then stop looking, this is the one for you!!! The Fresh Adventures 11-Day BC Ski Safari was hands down one of the most challenging, fun, awesome and rewarding experiences I've ever had the pleasure of being apart of! Alex made everything a breeze, and went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome regardless of skill level. We were fortunate to have big powder days at each mountain, and Alex knew all the local spots to wine and dine each night. On the mountain he pushed us to board down runs we would have never dreamt of doing alone, but we always felt in safe hands! Highly Recommend Fresh Adventures Ski Safari!

My mate and I joined Alex of Fresh Adventures and 8 others on a pretty epic ski adventure in March 2017. Alex was the perfect host and showed us the best spots to ski, eat and drink. As our group had different ski/boarding abilities, Alex was flexible and made sure that we all felt comfortable and got the most out of our trip. He supported me on runs that i never thought I'd do! Alex's love of nature, winter sports and adventure makes him the perfect host for a tour like this.

My son and I recently went on a tour of British Columbia ski areas with Alex Ross, owner of Fresh Adventures. I had never gone on a tour such as this, and Alex's knowledge and professionalism, and ability to keep the group at a high level of excitement have made me rethink how I will do ski trips in the future. He was able to lead us to the best ski runs, not to mention the best breakfasts and dinners wherever we were. In the past, I would have simply rented a car and driven to the ski area. As a result, I would have missed out on some of the best things each area had to offer. Alex was a great guide and leader, and we had a wonderful group of people to share the trip with. I would definitely do this kind of trip again.

We had a fantastic 11 days with our guide, Alex, and eight other like-minded skiers on the Powder Highway in B.C, Canada. Alex did a great job in making our trip so memorable - his enthusiasm and passion for his business really came across and his organisation of all the trips, meals and travel arrangements was impeccable. This took all the stress and need for planning out of our holiday so we could simply relax and enjoy it. We would definitely recommend Fresh Adventures, and will be keeping an eye out to see what other trips Alex has planned that we can join in the future.

4 Amazing mountains, 8 days skiing, Alex, just as amazing, had us all organized, and on schedule so as not to miss a thing.
He knows all the mountains, and was able to lead the adventurous to out of the way and gnarly places. Letting those of us who were less braves and/ or fit, know what could be expected, and offering options!
We had a great group, all keen skiers, but different ambitions on the hill.
Oh the hot springs were great, and restaurant choices all excellent!
Snow and weather mostly great. We never got feet of powder, but the bit we had was bliss

We had a great trip. Alex has picked same of Canada's best resorts and packaged them into a neat road trip. The accommodation was excellent with a variety of good restaurants for the group meals (recommend the bison burger). The organisations was great with 8 full days skiing and still time to visit hot springs in the evenings for a relaxing soak. We are already considering going back again next year :-)

WOW Great powder your. We were fortunate to have a lot of fresh snow.Alex is familiar with all the resorts we visited which ensured we got the best powder stashes and best runs to go for. His deep understanding of the environment was impressive and made us feel safe. Nothing was ever a problem. A great down to earth experience.
Accommodation was comfortable and clean. We got to experience some amazing restaurants at night which offered an array of tasty Canadian cuisine and cozy atmosphere. No maccas but the odd Tim Hortons for a quick coffee and donut. Great host. Thanks Alex for a wonderful holiday.

Great tour with a great bunch of people and Alex was a fantastic guide. Everything was well organised and the accommodation was good and as expected for the price. The food was amazing, everywhere Alex recommended was excellent and just what was needed to get you through a big ski day. All four resorts and ski towns were excellent and different in their own ways which allowed us to experience lots of varied terrain to challenge everyone no matter our abilities. Alex was a great ski guide and definitely encouraged me to challenge myself and experience new terrain which I wouldn’t have otherwise done or known where to find! I would recommend this tour to any skier/boarder of any level but particularly those who are looking to be guided into some more challenging terrain with some great views only the way. Fantastic fast paced ski holiday, I hope to do it all again one day!

Would recommend the tour to any skier or rider, but particularly for those that want to be guided into amazing and challenging terrain. Things to take include enough leg power for a couple of short hikes a day and a solid Neglin game (I failed). We loved all the resorts and ski towns and had a huge amount of fun with some great people. BC is a big beautiful place and I cant think of a better way to enjoy it.

Powder Highway Adventure

My first time on a guided/hosted tour and I really enjoyed the experience. Had a great group of fellow travellers on the trip who helped make the whole holiday I am already missing the humour. Its great to be able to ski with others in a small group or just head out on your own.

The skiing was amazing at all locations and I went from being very shaky on skis after a more than a 10 year lay off back up to intermediate.

Alex our guide arranged for skis/rental prior to my arrival which proved to be a great choice as the guys hooked me up with good quality kit for the whole tour. It was great to be able to literally turn up, get kit and ski without having the hassle of rentals at each location.

Alex was an outstanding host and guide who never seemed phased by the demands, abilities or time keeping of his guests. Great sense of humour and always happy to provide advice and assistance during the tour.

Only down side was the food...it was too nice and now I have added a few kilos! Basically at every location we had a different restaurant/food experience which was great so I have now tried elk and bison burgers and also the Timmy Horton experience :-) I can't remember a bad meal over the whole 11 days.

Definitely want another trip to Canada and would highly recommend Alex and FreshAdventures to all. I am hoping to get back again next year and tour the Powder Highway once again.

Just got back from a trip to B.C which included the 11 day guided tour with Alex and what an experience. The 4 resorts were all amazing, the terrain was intense, barely any lift lines and breathtaking scenery. Alex knew all the best spots/runs It didn't dump once in the 11 days but luckily thanks to his local expertise it didn't stop us from riding some barely touched powder fields in most of the resorts.

There were some lengthy roadtrips but that's part of the experience and the views made up for it, accommodation was within expectations but seeing as you'll only be at each place a couple of nights don't bother unpacking too much.

This tour is best enjoyed by people willing to challenge themselves and their abilities but there really is something for everyone. Alex himself is a champ, very easy going, knows his stuff and super accommodating, I stupidly lost my wallet with everything in it and he allowed me to bpay a bunch of cash to him which he then took out from the bank for me. Would definitely do the tour again.

Just got back home from Alex @Fresh Adventures 11 day Powder Highway tour.
Fabulous.
Alex had everything planned from pick up to drop off, but managed somehow to keep the flexibility so that everyone in our group of 6 was able to maximise their experience. Some of us wanted to challenge ourselves with a hike in Kicking Horse to some steeps, others were happy lapping some perfect powder on top of groomed slopes in the trees of Whitewater.

The local knowledge allowed us to get much more than from an unguided tour.

Hotels were pretty good 3/4*, nothing wrong with them at all, and completely in line with the budget for the tour.
The choice of restaurants was great, with The Library on Nelson probably the best.

Trying to work out when I can go again and take the family.

Keep,it up Alex !

We have just finished a fantastic tour of the powder highway. Everything went like clockwork and I would highly recommend booking on one of these tours. Alex knows the mountains really well and could find us good snow on every day. Our group was well matched on abilities, but it wouldn't matter if that wasn't the case as Alex can set different groups off on different runs, depending on what you want.

The travel day and frequent hotel moves is the only draw back, but I wouldn't let that stop you as the travel is worth it for amazing resorts... and I definitely wouldn't fancy doing the driving myself!

Alex also helped us with ideas for some additional days we had left at the end of the trip and even dropped us off!

Just returned home from this epic 11 day road trip around BC. I've been on a few ski trips in NZ and Japan. Alex's trip completely exceeded my expectations. His knowledge of the area and snow experience is excellent and pushed my skills. He made sure everyone rode to their capabilities. Our entire group got on well with almost all solo travellers. It was like a group of mates meeting up in Canada for a road trip. Highly recommend and already planning my trip back in 2018.

I did the 11 day tour of the powder highway with Alex from Fresh Adventures. It was the perfect tour, Alex knows the powder highway area like a true local including all the hard to reach runs, hot springs and the best places to eat and drink. He is a great guide and is constantly working to ensure all the guests are getting the most out of their experience, improve their skiing and boarding and challenge themselves, at the same time as finding all the untouched snow. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Will definitely be back!

Incredible, Flexible, Local Knowledge

Jon
31/01/2017
Alex at Fresh Adventures created a flexible, customized itinerary for all 6 skier/riders on our trip. We arrived at different times in different cities, left at different points along the powder highway and he made it all work.

His detailed, local knowledge of each mountain we visited allowed him to point the rippers to the stashes the locals don't want you to know about while he pointed the more mellow riders to terrain they were most comfortable with. Alex was always concerned that everyone was experiencing the terrain they wanted to at the pace they wanted to.

Each mountain (Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, and Whitewater) has such a distinct character that Alex knew inside-out, and was able to highlight with careful trail selection and local knowledge of the secret spots.

My boyfriend and I went on this trip last year and we had the best time! Being new to skiing, I was surprised at the amount of terrain that was available for someone of my skill level. Alex gave me some skiing tips and showed me all the runs that I would enjoy. My boyfriend is an advanced skier and had some amazing pictures to show me later of waist deep powder and big smiles! We ate fantastic food every day and slept comfortably at night. Alex even gave us plenty of ideas for things to do when we return in the summer.

I've done several ski trips to British Columbia and I can honestly say that this tour has been the best yet. Alex is an amazing guide, with a vast knowledge of everything that BC has to offer and an fantastic attitude towards his guests. Lodging was very comfortable and the skiing was incredible! Alex seems to know all the secret spots for untouched snow, secluded hot springs and great spots to eat. Looking forward to my next Fresh Adventure!!!

I am going to try and put into words the amount of fun that I had with Alex during my trip with him, but I already know I won't be able to do it justice. I would have treated my own brother no differently than Alex treated me during our tour together, staying at and seeing all the hidden places. Helped me push some of my limits I wanted pushed while being totally respectful and good natured. Couldn't believe the lengths that he went to just to make sure that I had fun during my stay with him. We traversed into areas that seemed to be his little secret part of the mountains and he showed me sides of BC that I am positive you wouldn't see with anyone else. It used to be that I planned all my trips myself, but this experience has really opened me up to the idea of being guided. It's a whole new world out there folks!

My husband and I took this tour with Alex last year. It was our third ski trip to BC. I am not a big skier, but my husband really like the safari style of tour, since he was able to explore more mountains than before. He usually skis alone on our trips with my knee being too weak to do much skiing, so having a guide and buddy to ski with was really nice for him. Alex showed him some runs that were perfect for his level, and it sounds like it helped him get more comfortable in powder as well. I mostly window shopped and relaxed during the tour, but my favourite part of the tour was going to the hot springs during the evenings. I had never been in a natural spring before, and despite the slight sulphur smell it was really quite incredible.

Loved the trip. Our guide Alex was amazing. He took my boyfriend and I to the most epic runs of our lives. My boyfriend skis and I snowboard so we were wondering if that would work on the tour, but our guide actually did both and spent a day snowboarding with me too! We are hoping to do this trip again next year, but might do the longer one to try Red Mountain too.

Absolutely amazing time. Did the 9 day Powder Highway safari with Fresh Adventures and loved every minute of it. I have skied in BC every year for as long as I can remember, but it was never like this. I learned some tricks to help me ski through the trees better and the hot springs we went to were hidden gems. I didn't even know BC had hot springs like that and I must say, they really help with the sore ski legs at the end of the day.

I went on trip with these guys through BC this past Winter and had an absolute blast. The accommodations were great, we scored some amazing powder days and the guide knew all the spots to hit the untouched snow. When we had some downtime we were shown around the area, given some insider info on great spots to eat and even hiked into some secluded hot springs. The guide took us at the perfect time to the springs so, besides the local wildlife, we were the only ones there. Alex nailed it!

Wow... what a fun tour. My friends and I did the ski tour along the Powder Highway with Fresh Adventures. It was an amazing week. We got to soak in thermal pools which were perfect after a long day on the hill.

My friend Kate is a beginner and she had a great time exploring the runs our guide told her to go on, and he even taught her to turn on her toeside!

My other friend and I got to ski some of the most amazing runs on each mountain. We wanted trees and lots of powder and even though it hadn't snowed in a week we managed to find powder on almost every run. I will hopefully do this tour again.

My wife and I did the BC ski tour with Fresh Adventures and Alex was our guide. He really did everything in his power to make each guests trip perfect, including recommending the best local activities and restaurants.

We went to some hot springs which were a highlight for my wife. Naturally the incredible skiing of BC was my favourite and I must say, we skied some really sweet areas on each mountain. Our guide had spent years living in his car and explring each of the mountains we went to, and I could tell he was right at home there.

Unreal week skiing in Western Canada with a group of friends. Our guide really knows this area like no one else, and took us to runs that no one seemed to know about. We went to several hot springs and he showed us the best apres ski in each town (important on a boys ski trip). We are hoping to do this trip again this year.
