Hokkaido Multi Day Tours

Join Black Diamond Tours (BDT) for the ultimate ski/snowboard adventure and all of the POW POW you can eat.

To ensure you get the best conditions at all times, BDT maintain a flexible itinerary making every effort to adjust its tours based on changing weather conditions and feedback from its clients. The itineraries below provide a basic plan however your BDT guide will offer daily options based on current conditions.

Hokkaido is relatively compact in size and home to a number of great ski areas, many of which enjoy the same great powder that Niseko is renowned for. Most of these resorts are quite small so BDT generally recommends only spending one or two days at each. Travel time between resorts is generally under 1 hour. Tours are based in Asahikawa, Furano, Sapporo or Tomamu, with multiple resorts within easy reach of each of these locations. This limits hotel changes and travel time while still being able to get to a number of different areas over just a few days.

Below are BDT standard itineraries / packages. However if none of these are quite what you are looking for, please still submit a booking enquiry form with a description of what you are looking for and they will design a package to suit.

Please note that all tour pricing is based on a group size of 6 people. Pricing will increase/decrease for smaller/bigger groups. If you have a small group, BDT will try to join your group up with other groups where possible but this cannot be guaranteed. Please enquire as they may have other small groups already confirmed.

If you are a single or small group, there is "The Power Trip" (see below) which caters for this. This is a fixed date trip and there are only 12 spots so you will need to get in fast.

Also for singles and small groups, the Niseko Deluxe tour is a fixed price no matter how big or small your group is.

Also note that BDT offer a 10% discount on all tours booked for December or March.

Niseko Deluxe – 9 Day Tour (129,000 Yen)Ideal for first time visitors to Hokkaido, the Niseko package includes several days to explore the entire Niseko United area but makes sure you don't leave without trying a couple of other great resorts in the area.

You will head to Rusutsu resort to experience some of Hokkaido's best open gladed skiing. This is a very popular excursion and assistance will be provided to help you to choose the right day to avoid the crowds and get the best snow.

At the end of the week, you will depart Niseko and head to either Sapporo Kokusai or Teine Highland near the city of Sapporo. After an epic day of skiing/riding, you will be taken to your accommodation in Sapporo. From here, take in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city, sample some of the cuisine and for those up to it, take your chances with the 24 hour night life. The following morning, head out for some shopping and souvenir collecting before making your way to the airport for your flight.

If you're looking for the ultimate adventure and most action packed week, this is the trip for you. Ideal for someone who has been to Hokkaido a couple of times and who wants to get off the beaten path to some of the smaller resorts on the island.

The tour starts in central Hokkaido where the resorts of Furano, Kamui Ski Links, Asahidake and Kurodake are all accessible.

The Furano zone offers the most reliable powder conditions, while Tomamu and Sahoro are better known for actually getting the occasional sunny day and the least amount of traffic. To make your decision easier though, after your arrival, if snow conditions are looking better in one area or the other BDT will do their best to adjust the trip accordingly.

Hokkaido Package - 14 Day Tour (269,000 Yen) If you've got the time available, this tour will enable you to explore many of Hokkaido’s top ski areas in one hit.

The tour kicks off in Niseko, Hokkaido's biggest resort area. BDT will provide a guided day here to help sift through the tourist traps, find the best lines on the mountain and get you out into Niseko's phenomenal backcountry bowls.

From Niseko you will head to nearby Rusutsu, then head into Sapporo for a couple of days at the local resorts - there are a couple of gems here that shouldn't be missed. This also offers an opportunity to experience a unique Japanese city and all of its cuisine, nightlife and shopping but in a more manageable environment than the mega cities of Tokyo and Osaka.

From Sapporo it’s off to central Hokkaido for the coldest, driest snow on the island and a couple of stops in the Daisetsuzan range (Hokkaido's tallest mountains). This a great hub that offers access to a multitude of excellent resorts and considerably smaller crowds than the south western areas of Hokkaido.

Finally we will stop in for one last day at Tomamu resort before heading back to the real world. You can choose to finish your trip either at the airport in Chitose or if you would prefer, a last day of shopping in Sapporo.

Black Diamond Tours backcountry package offers an opportunity to truly get off the beaten path and into Hokkaido's legendary backcountry. The focus is still on getting as many powder turns as possible, but equipped with a qualified backcountry guide and a full set of touring equipment, our options are limitless.

All of the resorts visited on this trip offer great backcountry ski terrain along with spectacular inbound, off piste areas. This means that depending on the weather tours can be flexible deciding on the amount of hiking versus lift accessed skiing. If it is puking with snow and white out conditions chances are the in-bounds riding is the place to be; alternatively if its bluebird and hasn't snowed for a few days - beyond the ropes will be the go.

Black Diamond Tours will cram as much into one week as possible and guarantee that you will be riding the deepest snow on the island all week long.

With no set itinerary, BDT will follow the snow to the best of the best over seven days. Equipped with a full set of backcountry touring equipment, 2 vehicles and 2 certified backcountry guides the options are almost limitless. You will be able to tap into every available option at all the resorts we visit including car shuttle runs off the back side of several resorts. Along the way, BDT can pull up to build kickers or hit some classic roadside pillow lines.

Following the ski days BDT will take you to the best restaurants, onsens (hot springs) and of course out on the town to investigate the Japanese night life. It is unlikely that you will spend more than one or two nights in any given hotel and expect at least some driving every day because the key to keeping up with the snow is mobility and spontaneity - so pack lightly and be prepared for plenty of early mornings... and late nights! 

The 4WD vans come equipped with CD players to keep you entertained and an ice box to keep the drinks cold.

This trip is as much up to you as it is BDT, so it's anybody’s guess how things will unfold, but one thing is for sure - this will be one heck of an excursion.

Costs have been kept to to a minimum in an effort to accommodate the real ski bums out there.

Just let them know which resorts you would like to visit, how many days you have for your trip and the number of people in your group via the booking enquiry form and they will provide a custom quote for you.

Terms and Conditions 1. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
2. Full payment is due 60 days prior to the start of the tour. If the tour is booked within 60 days of departure, full payment is required to confirm. Cancellation within 60 days but 30 days prior to the tour will incur a tariff in the amount of 50% of the full tour cost. Cancellations within 30 days will incur a tariff in the amount of 100% of the full tour cost.
3. Payment can be made either via bank transfer, paypal or credit card. Any banking fees that are incurred during payment are payable by the client. All payment details will be included on your invoice.
4. All customers signing up for a guided tour are required to read and sign a release of liability waiver before departing. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the tour without refund. All participants under the age of 19 must also have a parent or legal guardian sign their release of liability.
5. All day tour pricing listed on this website is based on a minimum group size of 3 people unless otherwise stated. If your group is smaller than 3, please inquire for pricing. All multi-resort tour pricing is based on a group size of 6 unless otherwise stated. Please inquire for details on pricing for bigger or smaller groups.
6. Black Diamond reserves the right to cancel any tour at any time. In the event of cancellation, the customer will be offered the opportunity to either reschedule or receive a full refund.
7. All participants entering the backcountry (anywhere outside of the ski area boundary) on a guided tour must be at least 13 years of age.
