There is a small shop at
Porters ski field that sells the absolute basics such as sunscreen, beanies, goggles, gloves and a few helmets. If you have more specific needs for ski or snowboard gear, you’ll need to try Christchurch or Methven.
The shop also sells souvenirs to remind you of your visit to Porters. The souvenirs include community park t-shirts, and Porters windcheaters, caps and hats. T-shirts to boast that you’ve conquered the expert terrain are also available.
And the ultimate souvenir – they even sell “Porters” bottled water. It is unlikely that the water has any special healing powers or the like, but you never know?!
For groceries and other supplies, Springfield has a small general store, so if you need lots of supplies or something specific, it might be best to purchase these in a larger town.
