Accommodation

There is basic on-mountain accommodation at Craigieburn Valley ski area. The lodges have private and shared bunk rooms, and a very friendly environment.

If you’re wanting flexibility to move around to multiple ski areas, or a little more luxury, our recommendation would be to stay at Flock Hill Lodge which is a farm offering backpacker, motel and cottage-style accommodation. It’s only a few kilometres down the road from the Craigieburn ski area turn-off. See our motels and lodges and backpackers pages for more information.

Alternatively, there are several accommodation options available at nearby Springfield such as Springfield Lodge & Motel, a small rural town just 50km (35mins) down the road, infamous for its giant doughnut (Springfield is the town in the Simpsons cartoon, and Homer's favourite food is doughnuts). The doughnut wasn’t there in August 2008 but apparently it’s coming back. It’s a major talking point amongst visitors and locals alike – amazing the buzz that can arise from a doughnut!

Castlehill Village is a few kilometres before the turnoff on Highway 73. The small village mainly comprises private houses but there is a B&B, The Burn
Accommodation options include motels, lodges and backpacker lodgings.
