Courmayeur - a must!

19/05/2018
Courmayeur is so much fun. The options for intermediate, advanced vary from on piste to challenging off piste with or without trees.
The variety of food and drink is amazing and generous (easy to overdo it at lunch time!).
The non skiing options are 'must do's (head up to Mont Blanc/Monte Bianco).

Small on field but huge off the back

17/03/2018
Courmayeur is not a big field when it comes to on Piste. With some good skiing you can cover most of the groomed runs in a day. But these are great with excellent grooming you can zoom the corduroy and take in the amaizing views of Monte Bianco across the valley. There are little eateries all over the mountain to stop for an espresso or a long lunch. It’s off piste though where Courmayeur is a stand out. The top two lifts give access to runs both to the south and north of the field. In fact the top cable car lift, the Arp, is only for off piste. All require full avalanche gear and go top to bottom with access back into the field via the bottom gondolas. Then across the valley you can go up the Monte Bianco cable to ski either the Toula or Vallee Blance. All the back country is best done with a guide at least the first time. In field there are plenty of tree lines when the snow is fresh but these get skiied out by the locals in no time. Loved it.

High adventure at Courmayeur.

06/02/2017
Whether you like perfectly groomed intermediate runs or massive alpine off piste climbs and descents; if you love sunny warm slopes or cold fresh north facing steeps; enjoy fine dining or a pizza and beer; want to stay absolute 5 star or prefer to economize on price but not comfort - Courmayeur has something for everyone.

A beautiful town centre, fun apres ski, lifts to the piste straight from town, tree skiing, panoramic views, easy to get to Turin. Aosta or Milan- we think Courmayeur is a great all round ski destination.

Courmayeur is made even better by its proximity to the Skyway Monte Bianco. Whether for skiing or just sightseeing, this is the world's best lift. The skiing from the top at Punta Helbronner is as mellow or epic as you want (or as the snow and glacier conditions allow!). If unsure, get a guide and do it. If truly unsure, just go up for a look. The scale of the landscape is stunning. It is one of those experiences that isn't easily explained to others that have never been there.
