Les Grands Montets
Les Grands Montets / The Grand Montets (1,235m - 3,300m)
Exceptional vertical drops and famous pistes have given the Grand-Montets its reputation as a world famous ski area, part of which offers superb glacial skiing. The Grands Montets is the largest and most popular station in the Chamonix Valley, covering an expansive area above the village of Argentière.
Les Grands Montets has three major skiing areas including the extremely picturesque Argentiere glacier. There are two lifts from Argentière (1,260m); a quad to Plan Joran and a téléphérique to Lognan. At Lognan (1,960m) there is easy access to the Bochard télécabine (2,800m) and Herse chair (2,600m).
This ski resort is predominantly an advanced mountain with an abundance of steep terrain to challenge even the most extreme skier. And with super long pistes your legs are guaranteed to get a really good work-out. Shredders also appreciate Les Grads Montets for the snow park and boardercross course at the mid-station of the Lognan ski area.
The Grand Montets is also renowned for its exception snow quality thanks to its north facing aspect and the high altitude. The good snow conditions continue until May, making it a paradise for skiers and board riders.
